The labor market of Yakutia becomes free of shortages

In July 2024, the dynamics of the ratio of the number of resumes to the number of vacancies on the labor market increased by 0.7 points, compared to June of the same year. This shows a significant increase in competition among applicants and characterizes the overall situation in the region as healthy, according to a study by hh.ru, a Russian online recruiting platform.

Healthy competition in the labor market of the region is confirmed by the value of the hh.index in June 2024 at the level of 3.8. This parameter has grown significantly compared to June 2023 and reflects the tendency to eliminate the shortage of personnel in the republic. The authors of the study reminded that the norm for the labor market is a ratio of 4-8 resumes per vacancy – then employers have a sufficient choice among candidates, and applicants do not experience difficulties in finding a new job.

The situation remains rather acute in a number of spheres of activity, which traditionally have a shortage of employees in the Far Eastern regions – “Extraction of raw materials” (hh.index equal to 1.8), “Agriculture” (1.8), as well as “Manufacturing, service maintenance” (1.9). The number of vacancies in these fields is generally equal to the number of vacancies. That is, companies actually have no choice when looking for personnel, and the terms of their search are increasing.

The study notes that this situation does not extend to the entire labor market in the Federal District. For example, in the field of art, entertainment and mass media, the situation is exactly the opposite – the hh.index there is 33.3 and shows a huge competition among applicants. Finding a job for a specialist in this field is still problematic.
