Novosibirsk State University (NSU) together with Rosatom is launching the first master’s program for training specialists in the field of digital twins, the press service of the university reported.
The program “Digital Doubles and Scientific Engineering” will be launched on the basis of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of NSU. Graduates will be able to create new engineering software to build digital duplicates of technological processes and objects.
Digital twins are virtual models of any objects, systems, processes or people. They synchronize with the original and really reproduce its form and actions, with their help they simulate situations with real objects under various conditions. Using digital twins saves time and money when it comes to expensive and complicated equipment. They can also be applied to avoid harm to people and the environment. The technology of building digital twins is used in many areas of human activity. These include energy, chemical technology, aviation, and biomedical applications.
This is the first master’s program launched by the university together with Rosatom. Up to 30 people will be able to study there every year.
