Chinese authorities have allocated 5.46 billion yuan for disaster relief

The Ministry of Finance of the People’s Republic of China reported that about 447 million will be used to compensate for damage caused by floods in agriculture.

Funds will be sent to the provinces of Heilongjiang, Anhui, Fujian, Hunan and Guangdong. The financial assistance is used for re-sowing crops, repairing damaged agricultural facilities and draining flood waters.

A number of regions, including the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, will receive 9.9 million yuan to support agricultural enterprises affected by the drought. The funds will be used to carry out measures to protect seedlings, reclamation works, purchase and transportation of fodder for livestock.

In recent days, many areas of China have found themselves in a difficult situation due to heavy rains and prolonged drought.
