A six-day international exhibition has begun in the capital of Yunnan province, with the participation of more than 2,000 exhibitors. Almost half of them are companies from South and Southeast Asia.
There are 15 thematic pavilions in the exhibition area, which are dedicated to manufacturing industry, technologies in architecture, green energy, agriculture and other fields.
A coffee industry pavilion was opened for the first time at the Expo, highlighting Yunnan’s status as China’s leading coffee producer. More than 160 companies offered their products here.
The expo was first held in Kunming in 2013. The exhibition has become a platform on which trade agreements worth more than $100 billion have already been concluded. According to official data, last year the volume of trade between China and the countries of South Asia reached almost $200 billion. This is twice as high as a decade ago.
