Tanker “Zangilan” delivered the first batch of Turkmen crude oil to Azerbaijan.

The new tanker “Zangilan”, built on the order of Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO) CJSC, made its first voyage and delivered a batch of Turkmen crude oil to the Sangachal sea port of Azerbaijan, ASCO’s press service reports.

This oil will transit through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, which underlines the strategic importance of this route for the export of energy resources.

The tanker was officially commissioned on July 2 in Baku with the participation of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. “Zangilan” is a modern ship with a length of 141 meters and a width of 16.9 meters. “Zangilan” is equipped with 6 cargo tanks and can transport 7.8 thousand tons of cargo.

This flight became an example of the expansion of Turkmen-Azerbaijani cooperation in the field of transportation of energy resources and opened up new opportunities for the development of sea transportation in the Caspian Sea.
